Plaid Radio – Becoming Self Made

Sarah Webb
By Sarah Webb

Nely Galan knows what it takes to be self made and shares her thoughts on Plaid Radio.  She believes the thing that limits us most is ourselves, “your mind limits you.”  She describes herself as the Latina Warren Buffet in her conservative investing, but always investing in yourself first.  In her book Self Made (www.becomingselfmade.com)she shares her insights to success.

After a highly successful career at Telemundo where she was the first Latina President she went back to school to get her PhD in Physolcolgy and is now helping women everywhere with her Adelante Movement (http://theadelantemovement.com).  Women are the fasted growing segment of entrepreneurs as well as the #1 consumer in the US economy.  The Adelante Movement is providing resources for women to change their lives personally and professionally.

A bit about me, I'm a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, employee and volunteer. I am married and have two children - one who aspires to be a secret spy ninja and the other wants be a doctor for toys like DocMcStuffins. I'm all about the Business of Life as I'm constantly trying to juggle my multiple roles. I come from a corporate finance background and during that time I started a women's group which still exists today. It was during that time that I became exposed to Plaid for Women and sought encouragement and advice through the resources. I'm so excited to be the President of Plaid for Women, and am passionate about providing a platform for women to #BeHeard. As you know, this organization is full of powerful, supportive women and I'm honored to be in this role.
