Who is the most powerful that has been at the box office this year? Wonder Woman!

I know every woman reading this is a powerful Wonder Woman as well. Remember, knowledge is power when it comes to your health and wellness. We should never stop learning; New insights and studies come out daily.

I want to discuss 2 topics: Sleep and Exercise.

sleep exerciseDo you get 7-9 hours of sleep? Getting enough sleep improves productivity, emotional balance, brain and heart health, immune system, creativity and your weight. We all want to boost those areas of functionality! I know if I get less than what is suggested, I do not feel my best. And studies agree – failing to get enough sleep night after night can compromise your health and may even shorten your life. From infancy to old age, the effects of inadequate sleep can profoundly affect memory, learning, creativity, productivity and emotional stability, as well as your physical health.

The claim you need your beauty sleep is legit. A small study published last year in the journal SLEEP found that sleep deprived study participants were rated as less attractive and sadder, HuffPost reported at the time. A different study from the Medical Institutet Karolinska in Stockholm, Sweden found that exhausted people are also judged to be less approachable. And the problem only gets worse over time: Researchers have linked chronic sleep deprivation with skin aging.

You may laugh at this suggestion… But plan your sleep. I have a timer on my phone to tell me it is time to go to sleep. That helps me so I make sure I get enough sleep. Whatever you can do make sure you get 7-9 hours of sleep ….. DO IT!

sleep exerciseLet’s talk about exercise. I think there are two kinds of people who exercise: Those who love it, and those who hate it. It is very rare to find those who fall in between. Exercise is not limited to going to the gym. You can exercise in many other ways: Take up a sport (cities have social leagues where you can join a team and play weekly softball, kickball, volleyball, basketball, etc games), go walk for a set distance or time period a day, use an app to attend a fitness class from the comfort of your home.

The benefits of exercise are infinite, and manifest physically, mentally, and in a sense of general well-being. Set aside time in your action-packed schedule to see to your health with dedicated exercise time.
