The Four Key Words for 2018: Let It Be Enough
At the end of every year, I like to peer ahead in time and feel into what is to come.
As I have said many times before:
I am not a psychic. Or a seer.
I cannot predict the fall of Rome or whether or not the fields will be overrun with locusts this summer.
And no one comes to visit me in some shrine in a cave in the deepest darkest corners of the Peruvian forest.
I am, however, a well-trained and highly-skilled intuitive…and with that comes some pretty useful insights.
And one of the ways I love most to use my skill is to “track into” what is to come such that we may be as prepared as we can be, and so that we may have an Eagle’s-Eye View of What IS and What Will Be.
And so, without further ado, allow me to introduce you to the mantra for 2018:
“Let It Be Enough.”
It’s a simple phrase, really… it doesn’t, at first read, pack a lot of “punch.”
Or does it???
It actually hits me quite solidly, square in my chest.
This phrase is a grounded one.
The phrase is rooted in stability. In satisfaction. In KNOWING that one has, and is doing, ENOUGH.
This phrase assumes you’ve already somewhat conquered the Beast of Knowing that You ARE Enough, and now takes us further… prods us more deeply to also recognize that we are DOING Enough.
That we HAVE Enough.
That two types of cake for Christmas dessert are Enough.
That $1000 saved is Enough.
That serving 25 clients a month is Enough.
That telling your children you love them every morning is Enough.
That brushing your teeth once daily is Enough.
That walking the dog 3 km is Enough.
That giving $5 to charity this month is Enough.
I could go on and on here, giving examples of all the things that we DO, all the things that we CREATE, and MAKE and HAVE, to show you how I believe these four wee words pack a lot of punch indeed.
Let It Be Enough.
When I say it to myself, I relax. My shoulders drop. And I sigh with an internal PRIDE at what I HAVE done, what I DO do, what I HAVE created.
I feel deeply satisfied.
Let me be clear.
This does not make me complacent.
This does not make my life “boring.”
This does not mean that I am “settling” for “less than.”
No. On the contrary, it means I am satisfied and happy with (and take pride in) all that I do. All that I have created.
And from there?
From THERE, from THAT FEELING, I enter 2018.
Not striving. Not hustling. Not feeling “less than.”
Just Knowing…and perhaps even smiling a little smugly with delight at it all…and letting it all be Enough.
