Shannon Thomas is the owner and lead therapist of Southlake Christian Counseling (SCC) where it is her greatest desire that clients find a place where they can feel comfortable to talk about anything and everything that is going on in their lives. It is very easy to hide our real feelings, even from those closest to us.

Shannon describes her expertise best:

I work with a variety of therapy and life coaching topics. I focus on individual growth and improving interpersonal relationships. Those relationships can be marital, dating, families, friendships or the workplace.

I also specialize in recovery from psychological abuse. I write extensively on the topic and was co-investigator of the research project “Examining Patterns of Psychological Abuse.”  I have been a content expert guest on radio shows and my second book, Healing from Hidden Abuse: A Journey Through the Stages of Recovery from Psychological Abuse  spent time as #1 Hot New Release Self-Help (Abuse) on Amazon.com.

I began working with families in 2000, started in private practice counseling in 2007, and opened Southlake Christian Counseling in 2009. I have a Bachelors degree in Legal Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz and I received my Master of Social Work degree from San Jose State University. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Supervisor for post-graduate interns working towards their LCSW licensure. I am also a Field Instructor within the Master of Social Work program at Texas Christian University (TCU).
