Felicia Cortez

I’ve worked in the non-profit sector for the last 6 years. Prior to that, I was a news reporter covering crime and events. During my time as a reporter, I covered a story on domestic violence and realized I was too a victim. After counseling, I began sharing my story and then was offered a job as a Community Education & Volunteer Services Advocate for a domestic violence shelter. There I was able to visit schools and help teens realize the dangers of teen dating. I also produced, directed and starred in a play I created, “Voices of Survivors” showcasing the true stories of survivors.
As a passionate advocate, I strive to bring awareness to this deadly crime.
