Dolores Garza

My Story

After 12 years in senior level public affairs and project management in the private and public sectors, Dolores began her consulting firm, The Blackburn Group.  Her initial clients were friends who engaged her with their real estate development projects and sought her expertise with mineral interest matters. Dolores was recently hired by a national health consortium to lead and manage their public health policy campaign.  Today, she is developing a cloud web marketing program focusing on Hispanics and the auto industry. Dolores also provides diversity recruiting and team development consultancy services.
Focused on giving back to the community, Dolores is currently serving as Fort Worth’s District 5 representative to the City’s Community Action Partner Agency. She’s an incorporating member of the City of Fort Worth’s Hispanic Leadership Organization, a decade long member of Congresswoman Kay Granger’s Hispanic Advisory Council and serves as Board Secretary for Camp Fire First Texas, as well as an active Board member of the Fort Worth Hispanic and Northeast Tarrant County chambers of commerce. She recently began her service with East Fort Worth, Inc.’s marketing committee.

Leadership development is an integral professional and personal point for Dolores. She has successfully completed several graduate-level leadership programs: North Texas Commission’s Leadership North Texas, Executive Leadership Development Institute, Leadership Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Leadership program. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Texas Woman’s University, Denton.
