Working as an advocate for mothers and babies since the early eighties with a passion to serve, Cindy spent about 10,000 hours with families of twins, triplets, and quads. She’s also spoken at local, state, national, and international conferences since the publication of her book on that subject, Preparing for Multiples: The Family Way. Cindy has served as a nurse, an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), clinical education specialist, and nurse educator, teaching as clinical, academic, or online faculty at both associate- as well as baccalaureate-level nursing programs. Her latest interest and certification has been as a Certified Clinical Aromatherapy Practitioner (CCAP). As an author, Cindy wrote a chapter on electronic communications for a nursing textbook, Communications in Nursing (7th edition). Additionally, she was a content reviewer and subject matter expert with two medical publishers and the primary curriculum developer within a corporation toward the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative. Within the profession of nursing, she has lead out by serving with several organizations including the International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA) and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), and currently serves as the Co-Chair for the North Texas of Nurses Christian Fellowship. Cindy is presently writing a devotional book for nurses. She and her husband have been blessed four children (including a set of twins), their spouses, and lots of grandbabies. (Though Cindy’s had many hobbies over the years, right now, her fifteen grandbabies take precedence.) They live in rural Texas and enjoy the wide-open spaces as ranchers.
