Happy spring!! Welcome to wearing your shorts and flip flops again. I love this season!!

When spring comes majority of us get excited to do our spring house cleaning. I know I do.

The other cleaning that is good is focusing on our health. Remember health is #1 to have!

So, I know it can be hard to get started. One step at a time…. that is all it takes.

Let’s start with exercise and why is can help:

  • Prevents Disease
  • Improves Stamina
  • Strengthens and Tones
  • Controls Weight

You can do yoga, cardio classes, Jazzercise; go to the gym or just a walk. It does not have to be every day, but YOU are important! Just start out 2-3 days a week. See how you feel and I promise you will not regret it. Your body will thank you!

Warmer weather brings more people doing outside activities. Let’s talk about water. It is always important to be hydrated throughout the year. Most important it is when we are outdoors when it is warm since we are sweating. Our body uses water in all its cells, organs and tissues to help regulate its temperature. Remember alcohol can deplete that…. So if you are outside remember it is super important to drink water.

Also who is a cool cat?? What I mean by that is that if you smoke it makes you a cool cat. Well, that era is over. Smoking cause’s lung cancer and heart issues. Plus bad breath and it smells awful. What is cool is not polluting your body with nicotine. If you want to quit and do not know how, I would suggest talk to your doctor as soon as you can.

What we eat is important. Many people are into herbs and supplements. Those can be good along with what you eat.

A few tips:

  • Eat leaner meats: Chicken breast, turkey, round steaks, and top loin
  • Cut back on process foods
  • Reduce caffeine intake
  • Increase fruits: Strawberries, cherries and berries
  • Increase Vegetables: Green peas, asparagus and spinach

Spring can be a new and fresh start for our health. So let’s all do a little bit of spring cleaning.
